HAVING A BREAK

Due to declining numbers, attributed to by peoples work taking them out of the city, and various other issues, we have decided to put the Perth Lunchtimers group meetings on hold for a little while.

Many thanks to all who have attended in the past - we hope your time was enjoyable.
And similarly to Steve and the staff at 43-Below for their continued support and friendly reception over the past near 2 years.

The intention is to "re-group" at a later date and continue with a (hopefully) improved format. It's a difficult balance of having enough people attending to acheive something interesting and worthwhile, whilst also having something interesting and worthwhile happening to make people want to attend in the first place!

It appears "just" meeting up for a drink and some lunch simply isn't enough for Perth-ites!!

OUR NEXT MEETING

Hello diners!
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 19th October.

Ideas for our meetings are always welcome if you have any suggestions. As I have said since this groups conception, we can't really get a format going if we don't have the numbers, but it seems we can't get numbers if we don't have a preferred format! Its a very "chicken and egg" thing! Anyhow, we'll continue for a while longer and see how we go over the coming months....
On a very positive note, I had a call from a WM from the Geraldton area, inquiring on how we run (or hope to run!) the Perth Lunchtimers group, as a number of Brethren are planning on attempting to do something very similar in their own little part of the world. We discussed them coming under the umbrella of the Perth Group, as an additional meeting point, and have a single "point of information" as it were, through the website. I'll let you know how that progresses, but it does look very promising for the future of Masonic socialising, outside of a Lodge, in an informal environment, in Western Australia.
As always, we look forward to meeting you all for a bite and a drink at the next meeting if you are able to make it.

Well, another six weeks on and by our next meeting (I believe) our March visitors, John and Connie Ross-Barnard will be reminiscing their world trip from sunny Blighty! We do hope their memories of Perth are fond and long lasting.

It was wonderful to receive a presentation of an engraved gavel acknowledging the Perth Lunchtimers No.17 group, and it will be present at future meetings for those who were unable to attend on the day.

It really was our pleasure to have met and received you both to one of our meetings. A picture taken on the day with John and Connie, and a number of the Lunchtimers "gang" commemorates our meeting, see below.
Names have been omitted deliberately for internet privacy, after all, WE all know who we are!!

So our next Perth Lunchtimers meeting will take place on Tuesday 4th May - don't forget to sign into our calendar (see menu on left), to be notified of upcoming meetings.
